What you are comparing it to
The question is not what this costs. It is what the alternative costs, because the alternative is not doing nothing — it is a person reading vendor policies.
Assessing one AI vendor properly takes about six hours: find the current policy, read it, work out what it says about training, retention and residency, write it down with a quote, and date it. At a loaded analyst rate of €150/hour that is roughly €900 per vendor, once. A mid-market organisation typically has twenty to forty AI tools in use, and the policies change underneath you.
Those are the same assumptions the console uses to estimate value, published so you can disagree with them. Halve the rate if you like; the shape of the answer does not change.
Console is under half the fully-loaded cost of one compliance hire, and it keeps the answer current rather than producing a snapshot that expires. The dataset licence replaces building and staffing a vendor-research function: a hundred profiles at €900 each is roughly €90,000 to produce once, before anyone re-checks them tomorrow.
What this is not
Verax is governance and assurance, not a preventive control. It does not inspect content, so it cannot tell you that someone pasted a contract into a chatbot — only that the tool is in use and what that vendor does with what it receives. We generate the blocking policy; your own stack enforces it.
We hold no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification yet, and we say so on the trust page along with where your data lives and who processes it. If your procurement requires certification today, we are not yet a fit — tell us and we will say so plainly rather than waste your cycle.
