Does your site meet AI Act Article 50?
From 2 August 2026, if people interact with an AI system you operate, you must tell them. The Digital Omnibus postponed the high-risk obligations to December 2027 — it did not postpone these transparency duties. Scan a public page for the signals.
Tell people they're talking to an AI
Providers of AI systems intended to interact directly with people must ensure those people are informed they are interacting with an AI — unless it is obvious from the context. This is the one most public sites miss: a chat widget with no disclosure wording.
Mark synthetic content machine-readably
Providers of systems generating synthetic audio, image, video or text must mark outputs as artificially generated in a machine-readable way (e.g. content credentials / C2PA). This obligation applies from 2 December 2026.
Disclose deepfakes and AI-written public-interest text
Deployers publishing deepfakes must disclose them; AI-generated text published to inform the public on matters of public interest must be disclosed as such, absent human editorial review.
